Bridging Critical Gaps in Rural Care: MedCycle Network Supports Anderson Valley Health Center
Tucked alongside the Boonville Airport in rural Mendocino County, Anderson Valley Health Center (AVHC) stands as a lifeline for its tight-knit community. Providing primary care, dental services, behavioral health, and acupuncture, AVHC serves a wide range of patient needs—often under time-sensitive, high-stakes circumstances. Recently MedCycle Network joined forces with AVHC to strengthen this essential care with a delivery that met an urgent need.
One Critical Device, One Lifesaving Difference
During the visit, MedCycle Network donated an S-Scort III suction pump—a vital piece of emergency medical equipment.
“This equipment allows our team to safely and effectively clear airways in emergency situations, which can mean the difference between life and death,” shared Cindy Novella, AVHC’s Medical Director. “With MedCycle Network’s donation, we’re better prepared to stabilize patients until they can be transported—often by helicopter—to the nearest hospital.”
In rural areas like Boonville, where time and distance complicate access to higher-level care, this kind of support can be game-changing.
A Rural Clinic With a Vital Role
Anderson Valley Health Center isn’t just a clinic—it’s a hub for stability and hope. Its strategic location next to Boonville Airport allows for quick transfers when emergencies strike. In partnership with the local ambulance service, AVHC’s team often serves as the first and only line of care before patients are airlifted to Ukiah Valley Medical Center.
That’s why MedCycle Network’s mission to meet real needs—quickly and precisely—is so important here. Our model ensures that the right equipment ends up in the right hands, at the right time.
Partnership for Long-Term Impact
This is just the beginning. MedCycle Network is committed to supporting AVHC well beyond this delivery. Together with Cindy Novella and her team, we’re building a plan to ensure AVHC has consistent access to:
Medical supplies tailored to their patient population
Durable medical equipment (DME) to increase efficiency and comfort
Biomedical equipment, including a much-needed free-standing 12-lead EKG machine
Each of these investments contributes to AVHC’s ability to continue delivering high-quality care in a resource-limited setting.
Equity in Action
This donation represents more than a piece of equipment—it reflects our mission in action. At MedCycle Network, we believe healthcare equity must include rural communities often overlooked by traditional systems. By directing surplus equipment to where it’s needed most, we’re building a more just, sustainable, and responsive healthcare system.
“In rural places like Anderson Valley, it only takes one device to make a huge impact. That’s the whole reason we do this—what might be extra for one hospital becomes vital, lifesaving care somewhere else,” said Ernesto Olivares, COO and Co-Founder of MedCycle Network
